Maryville sweeps President's Cup championships for fourth straight time

LaGrange, Ga. -
The Great South Athletic Conference released its final 2007-08 Presidents' Cup standings after the completion of the spring sports championships.
Maryville College for the fourth straight time has swept the President's Cup championships.

Maryville's women won the championship in soccer, while finishing second in cross country, volleyball and basketball. Piedmont was second and Agnes Scott third following Maryville in the Cup standings. Piedmont won volleyball and basketball championships, with a second place finish in softball. Agnes Scott won the cross country championship and was second in tennis. LaGrange won in softball, while Huntingdon won the tennis championship. Spelman was second in soccer.

On the men's side, Maryville won conference championships in cross country, soccer and basketball. Piedmont finished just five points back of Maryville in the Cup standings. Piedmont captured the baseball championship with second place finishes in cross country, basketball. Huntingdon won the tennis championship and was second in soccer. LaGrange was second in baseball.
